Speaker introduction: Dr.Xiao Jingjian is a professor of Consumer Finance in Department of life development and family,University of Rhode Island,in the United States.He is engaged in the teaching and reaching of consumer economics and consumer finance.His research interests include consumer financial knowledge,financial behavior,financial ability,and financial well-being.His research results have been published in the Journals about consumer economics and consumer finance,such as some SSCI Journals includingJournal of International Consumer Research,Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology,Journal of Business Research,Journal of College Students Development,Journal of Consumer Affairs,Journal of Public Policy and Marketing,Youth and Teen,Social Indicators Research,etc.He has published books such asModern Family Economics,Personal Financial Mathematics,Chinese Youth in the Transition,Consumer Finance Research Manual,Consumer Economic Benefits,etc.He is the editor of theJournal of Financial Advice and Planning,which is included in ABI,EconLit,ERIC,and other index / abstracts databases.Also he is editor in chief of consumer science books.He served as the president of the Americanconsumer interestSociety and the chairman of Asian consumer and Family Economics Association.He served as consultant and speaker in many financial literacy activities sponsored by the United States Secretary of the Treasury,the U.S.financial education fund,the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and other organizations.He has been invited to talk about consumer finance in China,Japan,Malaysia,South Korea,Switzerland,Taiwan and other countries and regions.From 2005 to 2007,he served as professor of the first TCA and the director of the Institute of financial education of TCA.He received a Bachelor of economics degree and a Master degree in economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law,and received a Doctor degree in consumer economics from Oregon State University.
